Juniors - 1st Round of SDL. A Good Start to the First Round

Košice, Bratislava (25.2.2017) The juniors managed to have a successful start to the first round, even though coach Miroslav Jedlička was missing two gymnasts from OŠG in his lineup. Despite this, the boys managed to assert themselves and win first place in three categories. S. Bučko, J. Závacký, and team captain J. Mesiarkin, who could thus happily celebrate his 18th birthday on that day, were responsible for this. In the 50kg weight class, S. Rusňák also scored points in third place. In the 76kg weight category, M. Závacký took 5 points for second place, and P. Tomlein took one point. In the 85kg category, in addition to the winner of the weight class, J. Mesiarkin, we also had H. Al-Kubati, who gained a point for the team from sixth place. In the 96kg category, we had double representation as well, with M. Beneš surprisingly scoring points from second place, and V. Váňa also adding a point to the table. The coach was relatively satisfied with the boys' performance and was basically hoping for a top-three finish. The league round was attended by clubs: Rimavská Sobota, Vihorlat Snina, TJ AC Nitra, and Dunajplava Bratislava, which confirmed its role as the favorite. Second place currently remains for ZK Košice with a 19-point deficit, and third place belongs to Dunajská Streda.
