Košice, Kraśnik (POL) (6-8.10.2017) At the beginning of October, the annual tournament "XXVI International Tournament for the Cup of the Kraśnik Land" took place. Coach Mgr. M. Jedlička and 6 competitors traveled to this event. States such as Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Spain, Canada, and clubs from the host country, Poland, participated in the tournament.
In the cadet category, the boys were less successful. In the 58 kg weight category, Jakub ZAVACKÝ defeated a Latvian in the first round, but in the second, he was no match for a local Pole. In the B group, where the fight is for bronze, he defeated another Pole, but a Lithuanian ultimately stopped him, and he finished before the bronze medal match. In the 63 kg weight category, Makar VYHIVSKYI passed the first round, but in the second match, he was defeated by a representative from Ukraine. The B group continued victoriously for him, except for an opponent from Latvia who was beyond his strength, and he finished the tournament. In the 69 kg weight category, Lukáš NEUPAUER wrestled, who, like his colleagues, won twice and lost twice, and did not continue in the tournament.
In the junior category, it was more cheerful. In the 74 kg weight category, Jakub SÝKORA won a bronze medal. He passed the first round against a Ukrainian, then was no match for a Latvian, and in the B group, in the fight for bronze, he won against a Pole, an Estonian, and another Pole. Jozef MESIARKIN in the 84 kg category performed similarly, passing through the first round and losing in the semifinals to a Belarusian. However, in the fight for third place, he defeated a local wrestler from Kraśnik and brought home a bronze. In the heaviest weight category of 120 kg, Matúš SÝKORA competed, but unfortunately, the heavyweight category was unoccupied, so he took gold without a fight.
Coach Miroslav JEDLIČKA also received an award from the home club for the mutual cooperation between the Suples Kraśnik and ZK 1904 Košice clubs, which has lasted for twenty years. msy
