Košice, Luckenwalde (GER) (June 8-9, 2018) Our club traveled to the German town of Luckenwalde for the annual high-quality cadet tournament. On Friday morning, 7 boys, along with coaches M. Jaroš, M. Sciranka, Š. Csorba, and club president J. Tokár, traveled to compete in this tournament. Our young referee, M. Sýkora, also traveled with the boys to gain further refereeing experience abroad.
The most successful was Makar Vyhivskyi in the 71kg weight category, who, after excellent matches and four victories, went home with a gold medal. Makar started at the sports school last year, and we are pleased with his performance and training approach, which was also evident at this tournament. Congratulations and we are happy for his contribution to our club.
Nice performances were also given by Samuel Bučko (48kg), Jakub Zavacký (65kg), and Viktor Váňa (92kg), who all finished in 5th place. Each of them missed a medal by just a little; we hope they will work on their mistakes and bring home valuable metals as a reward next time.
Lukáš Neupauer (71kg), Matej Béneš (92kg), and Adam Fedorco (110kg) were less successful, being eliminated from the tournament after losing their matches and not wrestling further.
