03. 12. 2016
| December 5, 2016 (Košice) Our youngest wrestlers can't even imagine a competition year without the final St. Nicholas tournament. In a competition of 6 countries, children in the preparatory and younger pupil categories measured their strength. Almost 140 competitors could look forward to the wrestling St. Nicholas, who visited our training hall. The originally city-level competition has grown into an international one, mainly thanks to coach Mgr. Miroslav Jedlička. Coaches of foreign clubs from Poland, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and three clubs from Hungary evaluated the tournament very positively. The opening was attended by the mayor of the European City of Sport Košice, Richard Raši, along with the mayor of the Košice Západ district, Ján Jakubov, who came to support our young talents. The opening words belonged to the president of ZK Košice 1904, Ján Tokár. The children were also encouraged by the Olympic medalist, world champion, and sports director of ZK Koš

12. 11. 2016
| Košice, Šamorín (12.11.2016) Older pupils traveled to western Slovakia to compete for the titles of Slovak Champions in Greco-Roman style. 7 competitors traveled to the tournament with coach Mgr. Juraj Dancák. Our club has long prepared its charges in freestyle, but Greco-Roman is not foreign to the boys either. This was confirmed by the 3 medals at the weekend's Slovak Championships. The most valuable medal and the title of Slovak Champion in this category was won by Viktor Váňa in the 100 kg weight category. Two other medals were won by wrestlers in the 85 kg weight category, Patrik Tomlein with silver and Teodor Bartko with bronze. The other boys were not as successful.

25. 10. 2016
| Košice, Corum (TUR) 25-30.10.2016. Corum, a student town and also the venue for this year's University World Championships. This tournament was the peak of the season for our representative, Michael Bodnár. The result for the only Košice representative meant only partial success, in the form of a placement in the top ten. After the first match and a 5:0 victory over the German representative, coach Jozef Lohyňa was hoping for a medal fight. That did not happen, as in the second round, a home wrestler awaited him, to whom our freestyle wrestler lost 2:5. After the Turk's loss in the next round, the dreams of a podium finish vanished, and we had to settle for a beautiful seventh place. We believe that the next University World Championships will be even more successful. However, the preparation does not end, as in a week, our seniors have their last test of this year, the fight for the title of Slovak Champion. We will keep our fingers crossed!

07. 10. 2016
| Košice, Walbrzych (October 7-9, 2016) A pair of freestyle wrestlers traveled to Poland for this year's veterans' world championships. After last year's failures at the World Veterans Championships, the graduates of the Košice club finally returned with the coveted medal! Juraj Dancák won bronze, which is one of his greatest successes after his cadet, junior, and senior representative career. Peter Denk was less successful, not getting past the first round against the home representative. Nevertheless, both deserve great thanks and admiration for having the strength and determination to step onto the competition mats even at this age. They can be a role model for many young wrestlers. Congratulations!

01. 07. 2016
| Košice (July 1, 2016) Our club, ZK Košice 1904, also participated in the European City of Sport project. Holiday Fridays will be dedicated to the presentation of various sports that are mostly hidden in gyms and halls and are not as accessible to the public as, for example, football. The first Friday under the Urban Tower was dedicated to wrestling. It was a very successful event, in which all categories that train in our club participated. The preparatory wrestlers had the most fun, as they were able to show a bit of their art directly in front of their loved ones, coaches, city visitors, and passers-by. This was followed by a demonstration from the pupils' training, and the end belonged to the seniors. A former wrestler, world champion in bodybuilding, Jaroslav Horváth, and an Olympian, chairman of the Olympic Committee Miroslav Luberda, also accepted the invitation. An older generation of wrestlers, masters of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, also came to support us. The chan
