05. 03. 2016 | Košice (5.3.2016) The training hall at Trieda SNP 61 in Košice welcomed 65 promising wrestlers in the preparatory, younger and older pupils categories, and girls also joined the fights. In addition to the Košice wrestlers, the clubs Slávia Snina and Stará Ľubovňa also came. It was a kind of test before the upcoming Slovak Championships, which await us on Saturday, March 12, in the premises of the Social Pavilion. At the same time, we want to thank the parents, coaches, referees, and everyone who contributed in any way to the organization of this successful event for our children.

25. 02. 2016 | Košice, Sofia (25-28.2.2016) Three of our boys participated in an international tournament in Sofia last weekend. The most successful was the junior number one, Gabriel Tysz (97kg), who won bronze in a strong competition. His junior colleague Jakub Sýkora (65kg) and Jakub Sciranka (74kg) as a U23 representative also traveled to the Petko Sirakov – Ivan Iliev tournament.

21. 02. 2016 | Košice, Snina (20.-21.2.2016) The Košice team traveled to the Slovak Republic Championships in Snina with 8 boys, led by a coaching trio of J. Lohyňa, M. Sciranka, and Š. Csorba, with referees M. Gardoš, I. Vymazal, and A. Šambronská. The goal was clear, to win at least 4 titles, while we had only 5 weight categories filled. The team leaders were representatives Gabi Tysz and Kubo Sýkora. Another contender for the title was the defender from the last two years, Ľubo Kundrát. Among our other hot prospects were Jozef Mesiarkin and Róbert Szatmári in the "74-kg" category. Roman Peťák and Tomáš Krupjak tried to thwart Ľubo's path to defending the title in the 84 kg weight category, and Matúš Sýkora was aiming for the title in the super heavyweight category.

12. 02. 2016 | Košice, Plzeň (12-13.2.2016) Almost 90 wrestlers from neighboring countries met in the Czech city of Plzeň to fight for the top spots. From our five-member delegation, three Košice wrestlers succeeded. In the lowest weight category of 46, Filip Titka (4) won the gold medal. In the heavyweight categories of 76 and 85 kilograms, Patrik Tomlein (4) and Viktor Váňa (3) secured first place. Jakub Závacký (4) also had a victory within reach, but one loss in the group reduced his score of technical points, pushing him to second place. Roland Kapitančik (9) left the tournament without a podium finish, finishing in fifth place overall. Coach Mgr. M. Jedlička expressed satisfaction with the results of our boys, although participation in the tournament could have been higher. He also expressed thanks to Mr. M. Závacký, who secured and sponsored the trip to this tournament.

12. 02. 2016 | Košice, Bialogard - POL (12-14.02.2016) The Polish city of Bialogard hosted an international senior freestyle wrestling tournament last weekend. The Polish national team and numerous Polish clubs hosted countries: RUS, GRE, ISR, ROU, UKR, LAT, LTU, GER, FIN, and SVK. 118 freestyle wrestlers fought for the best placement. From our club, Jakub Sciranka competed in the 74 kg weight category, Michael Bodnár was represented in 86 kg, and Gabriel Tysz wrestled in 97 kg. The sports director and coach, Jozef Lohyňa, and Štefan Csorba also traveled with the boys.

30. 01. 2016 | Košice, Bratislava (30.01.2016) MT "For the Cup of the Director of ŠG" Bratislava has had its first tournament of this year, in which 195 pupils and cadets from 24 clubs from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Austria participated. A pair of our most successful wrestlers, Jakub Závacký (8) won 2nd place, losing in the final to an Austrian representative after a close match 8:8. Jozef Mesiarkin (6) in his weight category of 76 kg among cadets found no rival and after a victory over a representative from Ostrava, v. Piskoř, he could celebrate winning gold.

28. 01. 2016 | Sofia, Košice (28-31.01.2016) Our representatives have had their first test at a high-quality tournament in Bulgaria. The 54th edition of the "Dan Kolov – Nikola Petrov" international tournament was held in Sofia, and the Košice wrestlers were not absent. The Universiada sports hall welcomed male and female wrestlers in both Olympic wrestling styles from 27 countries from Africa, Asia, America, and Europe. Košice was represented in the 74kg – Jakub Sciranka, 86kg – Michael Bodnár, and 97kg – Gabriel Tysz weight categories. Mišo Bodnár was the most successful.

29. 11. 2015 | Košice, Kraśnik- POL (29.11.2015) Our youngest freestyle wrestlers started the new year successfully, with each bringing home a medal from the international tournament in Kraśnik, Poland. Coach Mgr. Miroslav Jedlička could be satisfied with the performance of his charges.

28. 11. 2015 | Snina (28.11.2015) The last round of the senior league was organized by last year's winner, Vihorlat Snina, who wanted to defend the title this year as well. The Košice team traveled under the guidance of coach Mgr. Juraj Dancák with a weaker lineup, only six boys:

21. 11. 2015 | Košice (21.11.2015) The last round of the junior league was held on the Košice mats thanks to last year's triumph. The entire twelve-member team of boys came to the home round in full force. The juniors successfully fought for the title under the guidance of coach Mgr. Juraj Dancák. Of course, the support of the club president JUDr. Ján Tokár was not missing, who in the final matches could already rejoice that the junior title remains in Košice!

17. 11. 2015 | Košice (17.11.2015) For many, a day off, but November 17 marked the opening of the autumn part of the city league for our youngest wrestlers. The home club ZK Košice 1904 welcomed colleagues from Wrestling Jedla, as well as boys from Slávia Snina. A total of 45 children provided a nice sports morning, which was also watched by the club's sports director, Jozef Lohyňa. We thank the coaches Mgr. Miroslav Jedlička, Bc. Martin Sciranka, Ľuboš Hriňák, Peter Hrinko, and for Slávia Snina, Tóno Andrejko, all the parents, referees Ivan Vymazal, the Sýkora brothers, Ľuboš Kundrát, and especially our children for their great performances!

14. 11. 2015 | Košice (14.11.2015) The sports hall on Ostrovského Street hosted the 18th edition of the "Olympic Hopes Cup" international tournament. The renovated sports facility welcomed junior representatives from seven countries. On the home mats, we were represented by 8 wrestlers, with triple representation in the 84kg weight category. Coach Mgr. Juraj Dancák could not count on the current Slovak champion, Gabriel Tysz, who has health problems.
