11. 05. 2018 | Košice, Skopje (May 11-12, 2018) The UWW tournament called "Macedonian Pearl" was held again this year in Skopje, Macedonia, where representatives of our club also traveled, under the guidance of coach M. Jaroš. As in previous years, the tournament does not have a large number of participants. After the European Championships, which were held last week, there are few tournaments, so the boys went to faraway Macedonia to compete in such a smaller tournament. J. Sýkora (74kg), M. Sciranka (86kg), and M. Sýkora (125kg) traveled. mb

05. 05. 2018 | Košice, Stará Ľubovňa (May 5, 2018) The annual tournament for the Cup of the Mayor of Stará Ľubovňa was not missed this year by our youngest from the Košice Wrestling Club 1904. 75 competitors in the preparatory and pupil categories competed at the international tournament. Children from the Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, and clubs from Slovakia participated, where ZK Košice 1904, under the guidance of coach Jozef JACKANIN, was not absent. He brought home the silver cup from the team ranking, which our Indians won.

28. 04. 2018 | Košice, (28.4.2018) The first round of the Regional Pupil's League was held in Košice and our kids are in first place, just one point behind city rival Wrestling Jedla. 73 children from 8 clubs participated in this league. The order was as follows: 1. ZK 1904 Košice / 83p. 2. Wrestling Jedla Košice / 82p. 3. Wrestling Stará Ľubovňa / 79p. 4. Slávia Snina / 69p. 5. ZK Moldava nad Bodvou /30p. 6. ZK Fiľakovo /26p. 7. Vihorlat Snina /25p. 8. Lokomotíva Rimavská Sobota /12p.

10. 03. 2018 | Košice, Snina (10.03.2018) Vihorlat Snina, as the organizing club, welcomed all junior freestyle wrestlers. We must note that the number of competitors is decreasing year by year. A total of 46 starters is an unmistakable sign that the popularity of our sport is declining. This championship was declared by the junior national team coach, Erik Cap, before the start of the event as the first to win a spot for this year's World Championships, which will be held on home soil in Trnava. The Košice team won two right away, thanks to J. Mesiarkin and S. Mochnáč. The club president, Ján Tokár Jr., and Martin Želinský also came to support the boys. Marcel Miček and coach Miroslav Jedlička also traveled to Snina.

03. 03. 2018 | Košice, Shchyrets (03.03.2018) The first weekend of March, our youngest members had a successful trip abroad. Our club received an invitation from Ukrainian friends from Lviv. Ten brave wrestlers participated in the tournament, led by coach Martin Želinský. The children gained valuable experience and three even stood on the podium! The coach expressed praise for the effort of all competitors. Some matches the boys could have won, were it not for the stress of a foreign opponent. But it is precisely such tournaments and matches that we need like salt, so that we can prevent this in the future. Many matches were on an even level, so we are on the right track. But we still need to work on techniques and improve. The season is just at the beginning, so we believe that we will do better and better. We also thank the parents who significantly helped, whether during the trip itself or directly at the tournament. ah

03. 03. 2018 | Košice, Dunajská Streda (03.03.2018) Saturday belonged to our freestyle wrestlers. The Slovak Cadet Championships and also the Slovak Championships for all women's divisions were held in the sports hall in Dunajská Streda. Our club had a strong representation, thanks to which we won first place in the team evaluation. Štefan Csorba sat on the coach's chair. Our club president, Ján Tokár Jr., also attended the trip.

10. 02. 2018 | Košice, Šamorín (10.02.2018) According to the SZZ calendar, the first tournament where championship titles were awarded was scheduled for Saturday, 10.02.2018. Our club also took home two titles from Šamorín. In the 72 kg weight category, Makar Vyhivskiy won it, and in the 87 kg category, Tomáš Krupjak, both also students of the Sports Gymnasium in Košice. Coach Štefan Csorba could be satisfied with the boys' performances, as they took home bronze in the team evaluation with a five-member delegation. He also pleased the club president, Ján Tokár Jr., who cheered throughout and was delighted with the performance of the Košice freestyle wrestlers, who managed to succeed even among the "Greco-Roman wrestlers".

03. 12. 2017 | Košice, Snina (3.12.2017) On the first Sunday of December, the Slovak senior league culminated in Snina, where the Košice team was also present. The trip was led by coach M. Jedlička, who, together with eight wrestlers, traveled to fight in the last round of the league. The club secretary M. Miček and international referee I. Vymazal also traveled with them. The boys traveled in the following lineup: 57kg Peter Pastor, 70kg Vratko Vokál, 74kg Jakub Sýkora, 86kg Matej Deák, Roman Peťák, 97kg Michael Bodnár, Jozef Takács, 125kg Matúš Sýkora.

02. 12. 2017 | Košice (02.12.2017) The long-awaited St. Nicholas tournament for children is successfully behind us. This year, almost 120 children from Slovak clubs, but also from the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, and Hungary, gathered in our training hall. The children thus had the opportunity to wrestle with foreign competitors on home soil. A smile was brought to their faces right at the beginning by the traditional St. Nicholas, who gave a package to all participants. For some, the smile disappeared after the first matches, and tears came with the losses. That's how it is at children's tournaments. But we also had many successful wrestlers, and in the preparatory A category, Samuel Vokál was even declared the most successful wrestler of the tournament. This year's medalist from the World Championships in Paris, Boris Makoev, came to Košice and wished the children much success during the award ceremony.

26. 11. 2017 | Košice, Stará Ľubovňa (26.11.2017) The sports hall was unusually filled with wrestlers on a Sunday. The final fourth round of the Regional Pupil League was organized by the Wrestling Stará Ľubovňa club. They welcomed over 60 competitors from clubs in Eastern Slovakia. Our preparatory and pupil wrestlers were not absent from this event either, going for a clear victory as their point lead after the third round was significant. The delegation was supplemented by a pair of referees, Jakub Sýkora and Hany Al-Kubati, who officially became holders of III class referee licenses after successfully completing the practical part. The numerous delegation of children was supplemented by their biggest fans and supporters, the parents and relatives themselves. The coaching duo of Štefan Csorba and Martin Želinský could be satisfied with their charges, praising their fighting spirit and perseverance and almost 100% participation in all four rounds. 11. 11. 2017 | Košice, Šamorín (11.11.2017) The last titles of Slovak Champions were awarded in Šamorín. Our freestyle wrestlers did not get lost in the Greco-Roman style either. Due to work and private reasons, not a single coach attended this event, so our representative Jakub Sýkora sat on the coach's chair as a substitute. He took on the role of coach very well, coaching the matches of Jakub Zavacký and Viktor Váňa, who both stood on the winner's podium. Matej Beneš had to settle for the unpopular fourth place. In the team evaluation, despite the low number of Košice competitors, we took third place. We want to thank the boys for their successful representation and also thank the parents who arranged the trip. ah

29. 10. 2017 | Košice, Zbarazh (UKR) 29-01-10-2017. Coach Mgr. M. Jedlička received an invitation to the thirteenth international tournament in memory of the wrestler and master of sports, Alexander Korol. For this trip, he chose Jakub Zavacký and Samuel Bučko, whose performances are closest to the international level, and at the same time, he had to consider not jeopardizing the III. round of the SDL, which was held at the same time. The juniors maintained their vice-champion title, so coach M. Jedlička could be satisfied with his decision. Jakub Zavacký also made him happy, winning bronze at the well-attended tournament! ah
