Seniors - Slovak Championships - Gabriel Tysz as the absolute winner!

06. 11. 2015

Bratislava (6-7.11.2015) An important end of the year for seniors, culminating in the Slovak Championships in freestyle and also in Greco-Roman style. 10 boys traveled to the tournament under the guidance of coach Mgr. Juraj Dancák and his assistant Marek Sciranka. A pair of Košice referees, Matej Gardoš and Ivan Vymazal, were also present at the Slovak Championships. The management and other wrestlers from the club also came to encourage our wrestlers.

This year started with "Greco-Roman", where we won one title, for which Gabriel Tysz fought in the 98 kg weight category. His toughest opponent was Papp from Banská Bystrica, whom he met in the semifinals. From an unfavorable score of 2:6, he managed to turn the match around with a pinfall victory. Gabi then won the final sovereignly.

Finishing in second place were: Jakub Sýkora (66 kg weight), who wrestled excellently with Z. Lévai (DBB) and lost on passivity 0:1., Róbert Szatmári in the 75 kg weight category, after two victorious matches, was no match in the final for the representative of Dukla Banská Bystrica, V. Jakus. Roman Peťák in the 85 kg weight category, also after two victories, lost the final match to R. Rigo (DBB). Third place was taken by Peter Pástor (59 kg weight), where in a competition of five wrestlers, he won two matches and lost two. Fourth place was taken by Ľuboš Kundrát (80 kg weight), who after a loss in the first round to D. Horvát (DBB) continued victoriously in the repechage, but lost the second match.
In the Greco-Roman style, the dominance of Dukla Banská Bystrica was evident, but second place for ZK Košice 1904 is a nice result.

In the afternoon, the more important freestyle began for us, where we managed to win one more title.
In the 61 kg weight category, Jakub Sýkora won, easily defeating his opponents, and in the 97 kg weight category, Gabriel Tysz, who met T. Redent (Dunajplavba) in the first round and after an excellent match won by technical superiority. In the following matches, he found no rival and so could celebrate a second title, also in freestyle.
Second place was taken by Martin Sciranka (86 kg weight), who was only bested in the final by R. Matejov (Dunajplavba), and after a good start to the match, when he was leading 2:0, he eventually lost by technical superiority 2:12.
Third places were taken by: Peter Pástor (57 kg weight), D. Chomanič (Vihorlat) and I. Molnár (ZK Olymp) were beyond his strength. Jakub Sciranka (74 kg weight), who was no match for his former colleague Dán Palinkás in the semifinals. Michael Bodnár (86 kg weight), the draw assigned him R. Matejov (Dunajplavba) right in the first round, to whom he lost 0:2 after an even match.

Fourth place was taken by Róbert Szatmári (74 kg), who met the eventual winner of the weight class, M. Dub (Dunajplavba), and was defeated for bronze by his club colleague J. Sciranka. Jozef Takács (86 kg weight) had his debut at his first Slovak Championships; in Bratislava, he only wrestled with Košice natives, where he lost two matches and won one.

Roman Peťák (86 kg weight), who despite his fighting spirit was no match for M. Sciranka and J. Takács, but showed a beautiful performance in the fight for fifth place against Ľ. Tiefenbach (Dunajplavba), whom he defeated by a narrow margin.
Ľuboš Kundrát was eliminated from the fights, who after a loss to Tiefenbach (Dunajplavba) did not continue in the fights. mb

In freestyle, Dunajplavba showed its dominance, as last year, and this is how the team results ended:
1. Dunajplavba Bratislava
2. ZK 1904 Košice
3. Slávia Snina

We congratulate the boys and keep our fingers crossed for them in future fights!
