Košice, Kemerovo (September 9-10, 2015) The capital of the Kuzbass region in the Siberian part of Russia hosted the third edition of the "Shakhtyorskaya Slava" (Miner's Glory) tournament. Just like last year, we had our representative at the tournament. The young man in the national team, Jakub SÝKORA, got a chance from the senior national team coach. At the high-quality tournament, Jakub gained experience that will surely help him in his career. The prizes for the best competitors also speak to the quality of the tournament. For the best domestic competitor, it was a car, and for the best foreign competitor, a gold medal. The organizers welcomed wrestlers from 27 countries around the world to the tournament. Although the World Championships were held in Las Vegas at this time, the tournament was not deprived of quality wrestlers.
The youngest member of the delegation entered the fights on the second day of competition in the 61kg weight category. Jakub and other members of the delegation (Michal Duba 74kg, René Matejov 86kg from D. Bratislava) were led by the Košice coach Marek Sciranka. In the first round, Jakub met the Russian Daša ŠARASTEPANOV from Buryatia. Jakub was no match for his opponent and had to leave the mat after a 0:10 loss after just a minute of fighting. Jakub's opponent did not advance to the final, losing to a club colleague and the winner of the weight class at the same time, which eliminated Jakub from further fights. In a competition of 35 wrestlers, Jakub placed 31st. js
