 
                            Košice, on November 4-5, the Slovak Championships in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling were held in Prievidza. Wrestlers from ZK Košice 1904 also traveled to this pinnacle event of the year. Our delegation consisted of coaches: M. Jedlička, J. Lohyňa, M. Sciranka, Š. Csorba, club secretary Marcel Miček, and ZK president J. Tokár, and from the referees A. Šambronská, I. Vymazal, M. Gardoš. Our eight competitors performed in freestyle as follows:
In the 74 kg weight category, Ľuboš Kundrát placed 4th. In his first match, he lost to a wrestler from Partizánske 0:10, but then he fought his way through the repechage to the fight for 3rd place, where he lost narrowly on points to a younger competitor from Bánovce nad Bebravou.
In the 86 kg weight category, we had 5 competitors. Michael Bodnár was the most successful, fighting his way to the semifinals after two wins, but there he was no match for R. Matejov and lost by technical superiority. After the unsuccessful match, he won the repechage and in the fight for 3rd place, he defeated the representative from Bratislava, T. Redent, on points, finishing in 3rd place.
Roman Peťák also started with a victory over his teammate Samo Koršňák. In the second round, he lost to M. Bodnár, and neither Roman nor Samo continued in the fights.
Martin Sciranka, who lost to T. Redent, and Tomáš Krupjak, who lost to Ľ. Tiefenbach, were also unable to secure a victory. For both of them, the freestyle competition ended with this.
In the 97 kg weight category, Jozef Takács competed. After his first victorious match, he ran into the more experienced competitor P. Tonko from Banská Bystrica in the semifinals. He won in the repechage, but in the fight for 3rd place, he lost to a competitor from Partizánske and finished in 4th place.
In the heaviest category, up to 125 kg, Matúš Sýkora competed and was the most successful. In his first match, he defeated a wrestler from Banská Bystrica, who was several years older, by technical superiority 12:1. In the semifinals, he dealt with a wrestler from Partizánske with a pinfall victory. In the final, he defeated D. Polačko from Slávia Snina and won the TITLE of champion of the Slovak Republic.
In the Greco-Roman style, Martin Sciranka was the most successful. He made up for his performance in the freestyle and took 3rd place in the 85 kg weight category.
Tomáš Krupjak recorded one victory in this weight category, finishing in 6th place.
Roman Peťák was unable to win and did not get into the repechage.
In the 98 kg weight category, Samo Koršňák was no match for his colleague Michael Bodnár, but he also lost in the next round and did not compete in the repechage.
Although Matúš Sýkora won against a wrestler from Šamorín with a pinfall victory, in the next round he lost by fall to J. Rohály and did not advance to further fights. msy
