Košice, Bratislava (31.1.2015) The last weekend of January saw the traditional International Youth Tournament in Bratislava. A seven-member team of boys, led by coach Mgr. Miroslav Jedlička, traveled to the competition. Bratislava was visited by 125 young people from 15 clubs, among which the ZK Košice 1904 club was not missing. Among the most successful Košice wrestlers were Filip Titka in the 40kg weight category and the older of the Závacký brothers, Matej, in the 66kg weight category, who stood on the winner's podium. Jakub Závacký was also close to winning gold, but in the final, he was no match for Kurthy (ZK Kolárovo). The success of the Závacký brothers was also watched in Bratislava by their father, who actively participates in trips to domestic and foreign tournaments. He can be satisfied with his sons' performance. Bronze medals were taken home by Sebastian Rusňák (40kg), Patrik Tomlein (73kg), and a third bronze for Hany Al-Kubati in the heavyweight category of 85kg. Unfortunately, Peter Kundra (42 kg) did not win the fight for third place due to a loss to Bučko (JUNO Stará Ľubovňa). The coach summed up the pupils' performance very briefly: "The boys wrestled well, it's just a shame they didn't win." (ah)
