Cadets - G. Tysz is Unmatched in Freestyle and Greco-Roman Style

24. 03. 2012

Košice (March 24, 2012) - Gabriel Tysz, a cadet of ZK Košice 1904, is on a roll this year. At the domestic championships of this age category, he found no rival not only in freestyle but also among the classic-style wrestlers. First, he won the most valuable metal on the second Saturday of March in Šamorín, when he won in the final of the Greco-Roman style championships against M. Csuvara from the host ZK Gladiátor Šamorín, and then two weeks later he succeeded against the same opponent in Snina in freestyle.

Other of our cadets could also have had two titles - Jakub Sýkora and Róbert Szatmári. But while the former paid the price in Šamorín for the fact that in the up to 46 kg category, only one other opponent competed besides him, for which titles are not awarded according to the rules of the Slovak Wrestling Federation, R. Szatmári did not handle his final duel in the up to 54 kg category against I. Molnár from Nitra in the Greco-Roman style as well as the final two weeks later against the same opponent in the same weight category.

Maxim Štec also enjoyed a valuable silver medal for second place in the up to 69 kg category in freestyle. To this medal, he also added a bronze for third place in the up to 69 kg category in "Greco-Roman." Marko Lukáč won bronze medals in both Greco-Roman and freestyle (up to 69 kg), and Matej Gazda also won among the classic-style wrestlers (up to 76 kg).

In the overall club rankings, our ZK Košice 1904 performed better at the Greco-Roman style championships, winning with 37 points ahead of the home team Šamorín. In Snina, the home cadets fared better, surpassing our freestyle wrestlers by nine points.
