Košice, Kraśnik (November 21-23, 2014) The Polish wrestling club LUKS Suples Kraśnik, with which we have good long-standing relations, organized an international tournament, which was not missed by our cadets and juniors under the guidance of Mgr. Juraj Dancák and his assistant Marek Sciranka. The competition was held on a date that did not suit our three representatives and also high school seniors Róbert Szatmári, Roland Vojkovský, and Gabriel Tysz, who could not attend due to their prom. Despite this, a quality and numerous team of boys and a girls' national team with coach M. Timko traveled from Košice. Our junior representative Dominika Kollárová took 3rd place/5 competitors, where after two wins and two losses, she traveled home with a bronze medal.
Among the juniors competed: Jakub Sýkora up to 60 kg in a competition of 13 wrestlers was eliminated after one win and two losses, and also brother Matúš Sýkora in the 84 kg weight class in a competition of 15 wrestlers did not continue in the fights after two initial losses. In the 74 kg weight class, Ľuboš Kundrát competed, who was no match for his opponent in the fight for third place and after a loss, he finished in 5th place /22 competitors. In the cadet category, Tomáš Krujpjak fared the best; unfortunately, after the fight for bronze, he had to settle for fifth place. In the 76 kg weight class, we had double representation with Samuel Mochnáč, who placed 7th /17 competitors, and Samuel Koršňák in the final 15th place /17 competitors. The wrestlers brought home more experience from the tournament and know what they need to work on. After this tournament, they have winter preparation for the next season. The Košice team was also supported by president Ján Tokár Jr., vice-president Ján Tokár Sr., and also the club's sports director Jozef Lohyňa.
