Cadets, Juniors - XXV International Tournament for the Cup of the Kraśnik Land

01. 01. 2020

On November 25-27, the 25th edition of the International Tournament "For the Cup of the Kraśnik Land" was held in the Polish city of Kraśnik. Eight boys in the junior and cadet categories traveled to this tournament with coach M. Jedlička.

Our juniors did not have a very happy start to the tournament. In the 74 kg weight category, Ľuboš Kundrát competed. In his first match, he lost to a Pole by technical superiority, he managed to win the second match by fall, but in the third match, he also lost to a Pole by technical superiority.

In the 84 kg weight category, Samuel Koršňák wrestled. Unfortunately, he lost both matches by technical superiority, first to a Pole and then to a Russian, and thus said goodbye to the tournament.

In the 96 kg weight category, Matúš Sýkora had the least success, losing his two matches by technical superiority and being unable to take a single point from his opponents from Belarus and Poland.

Our cadets showed a little more on the Polish mats. In the 50 kg weight category, Jakub Závacký managed to win his first match 11:9 against a Pole, but he lost the next matches by technical superiority and said goodbye to the tournament.

In the 46 kg category, a new member of ZK Košice 1904, Samuel Bučko, won his first match, defeating a Pole 5:4 on points. In the semifinals, he lost to a Pole by technical superiority, and so he competed in the fight for 3rd-5th place, in which he won by fall and finished in 3rd place.

The second graduate of the JUNO Sport Stará Ľubovňa club and today also a student of the sports gymnasium in Košice, Lukáš Neupauer, did not fare well in the weight category, losing his first match to a Pole 6:8 on points, and the second also to a Pole, but by fall.

In the 76 kg weight category, Patrik Tomlein competed. Although he lost his first match, he then got into the repechage with two wins, where he lost to a Pole by technical superiority and did not compete in the fights for 3rd-5th place.

In the heaviest weight category of 100 kg, Viktor Váňa got through 2 opponents to the final, in which he lost to a Pole by fall. Viktor ultimately finished in 2nd place and thus confirmed his position as the most successful cadet at ZK Košice 1904. msy

Congratulations to the boys on their results!!!
