Košice, Kemerovo (RUS) 22-24.9. One of the highlights for our representative, Michael Bodnár, is approaching: the University World Championships in Corum, Turkey. A high-quality tournament in faraway Kemerovo in the Siberian part of Russia served as a test before this event.
The fourth edition of the "Shakhtyorskaya Slava" international tournament was also very high-quality this year. Over 200 wrestlers from 22 countries around the world were also supported by fresh Olympic champions Roman Vlasov and Soslan Ramonov from Russia.
Michael Bodnár, in the 86 kg weight category, met Kazak Nurzhunbaev in the opening round, who was beyond Mišo's strength and defeated him by technical superiority 13:3. Mišo's opponent lost in the next round to the eventual winner, Gostiev (AZE). As in previous years, the Košice wrestler did not manage to get past the first round of this tournament for the third time, as previous participants, the Jakubs (Sciranka and Sýkora), were also eliminated in the first round in their appearances.
We believe that even such an experience will help Mišo achieve a better result before the UWC. (js)
