Košice (September 30, 2012) - At the end of September, the best wrestler of Slovakia in the 20th century, world champion from Tokyo 1990 and bronze medalist from the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, Jozef Lohyňa, led another of his training camps in Košice. Juniors and seniors of our Wrestling Club (ZK) Košice 1904, led by coach Juraj Dancák, participated. The main goal was to hone technique and pick up freestyle "finesses" before the upcoming season.
"I see a great benefit in these training camps, especially in that they bring a different, new perspective to our sometimes routine training sessions. The participation of J. Lohyňa and his leadership of the training sessions takes the quality of the boys' preparation to a higher level. It is certainly a revitalization of the training process, which the boys themselves also welcome," said coach J. Dancák.
He confirmed that they will continue with the four-day camps in cooperation with J. Lohyňa. The wrestlers and coaches will meet with J. Lohyňa next in November. The president of our club, Ján Tokár Jr., with J. Dancák and J. Lohyňa, are considering whether it would be more appropriate to hold the training camps on weekdays, and not during the weekend off, when there are usually domestic or foreign tournaments in the season. Participation in them deprives some of our wrestlers of the opportunity to train with the world champion.
