Košice (20.2.2015) The ŠOK project has completed its 6th year. In the pleasant premises of the Social Pavilion, awards were presented to the laureates of the Košice Sports Personality 2014 poll in five categories. In the ŠOK and Hope category, the Košice Sports Academy recognizes exceptional sports performances and results achieved in the given year in youth and junior categories. Jakub Sýkora rightfully received this award. His coach, Mgr. Juraj Dancák, accepted the statuette. Also present were the club president Ján Tokár Jr., sports director Jozef Lohyňa, chairman of the Olympic Club Miroslav Luberda, and assistant coach Štefan Csorba. Jakub could not attend this gala evening due to wrestling commitments. He currently has a tournament in Bialogard, Poland behind him and is continuing with a national team training camp in Walcz. This exceptional wrestling talent, despite his junior age, triumphed in 2014 not only in his age category but also at the senior Slovak championships and also performed successfully in international competitions, where he placed an excellent 7th at the European Cadet Championships and finished in 12th place in a quality competition at the Junior World Championships.
Let us just recall that in 2012, our club ZK Košice 1904 took home the award in the SPORTS TEAM category.
We sincerely congratulate and wish many more successes to the entire wrestling team! (ah)
