This year was exceptional in terms of celebrating the 120th anniversary of the founding of organized wrestling in Košice and Slovakia, which we celebrated at the home International Tournament of Olympic Hopes in the Stará jazdiareň Sports Hall
This year we completed 9 Slovak Republic Championships in all categories and in both styles, where we managed to win 14 Slovak Champion titles, 8 Slovak Vice-Champion titles, and 11 bronze medals!
In the long-term team competitions, we won in three rounds:
- Vice-Champion title in the 1st Slovak Youth League - East!
- Vice-Champion title in the 1st Slovak Junior League!
- CHAMPION title in the 1st Slovak Senior League!
Our wrestlers also represented us at the international level in the Slovak🇸🇰 national team jersey:
- Boris Makoev 2nd place at the European Senior Championships!
- Anton Vyhivskyi 12th place at the European Junior Championships!
- Michal Závacký 14th place and Nikolaj Szilágyi 12th place at the European Cadet Championships!
At international events, we were successfully represented by International Referee Ivan Vymazal!
In addition to these tournaments, we participated in 24 domestic and international tournaments, including the youth league, mini wrestling sessions, and the Košice championships, where we managed to win 87 gold, 79 silver, and 56 bronze medals!
At home, we organized one round each of the 1st SYL, 1st SJL, and 1st SL seniors, 2 rounds of the Košice Championships, and the Olympic Hopes IT and the Mikuláš Athanasov Memorial!
So that is the balance from 2024, and we are already looking forward to the new year, in which we will want to build on this past year!
