Košice (March 19, 2012) - Promoting the principles of transparency and efficiency in the use of the federation's financial resources, primarily for the development of youth work in all the federation's clubs and for the preparation of successful wrestling representatives in all styles, are the main principles and goals of the work of the newly elected president of the Slovak Wrestling Federation (SZZ), Arpád Bakšay, who was elected by the delegates of the SZZ General Assembly as the first man of Slovak wrestling for the next four years on Saturday, March 17, in Bratislava.
"Other goals are to improve the social prestige of the Slovak wrestling sport, both in domestic social life and in the field of international acceptance of the SZZ. The basic idea with which I come is the education and support of our own wrestlers who train and grow on domestic mats, thus becoming role models for other wrestlers, using close international cooperation, especially with countries from the Central European region and its vicinity, while for this purpose utilizing the potential of domestic, internationally recognized coaches and wrestlers. I don't know if this is new or not, but I would like to bring to Slovak wrestling, or the SZZ, the principles of cooperation, understanding, and a common passion of all members to achieve the best possible results. Specifically, in the SZZ presidency, I hope that, given the overall change of members, the unprecedented rejuvenation of the presidency, and the selection of these people from the ranks of former wrestlers who have not only a wrestling feeling but also a wrestling heart, there will be active and beneficial cooperation for the benefit of all wrestling, regardless of club, style, nationality, or any other affiliation or gender," continued the new SZZ president.
As A. Bakšay continued, his main goals in the perspective of four years are to at least maintain the current SZZ membership base and ensure the successful qualification of Slovak representatives for the next Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in all styles, while the total number of these wrestlers, given the previous results and the current age structure of Slovak representatives, the SZZ president would like to estimate at least at the number four. "In the coming weeks, I have a lot of hard work ahead of me. I want to familiarize myself in detail with the actual state of the SZZ by studying specific materials that, unfortunately, I have not been able to study via the internet so far, and I am also afraid of unpleasant findings. Subsequently, I want to hold the first meeting of the presidency and successfully launch the activities of this SZZ body," concluded the SZZ president A. Bakšay for our website.
