Košice, Ostrava (June 5-6, 2015) The Ostrava club TJ Sokol Vítkovice organized the 14th edition of the Jiří Klepec Memorial, which was not missed by our wrestlers. 209 competitors participated in the tournament in several categories. We were particularly interested in the pupil category, in which 9 boys and 2 girls fought, under the guidance of coach Mgr. Miroslav Jedlička. The club secretary, Marcel Miček, also traveled with him to Ostrava, who added after the tournament: "It was a very good and high-quality tournament in this pupil category!".
The ZAVACKÝ brothers were the most successful, winning gold medals. The younger Jakub, after several good victorious matches, met his club colleague Filip TITKA in the final, whom he defeated and became the winner in a competition of 12 wrestlers. The older Matej also defeated quality opponents and luck was on his side in the final when he was losing to a Ukrainian wrestler, whom he surprised with an unexpected "roll" and after a pinfall victory, he brought home the gold medal in a competition of 14 wrestlers. The following boys managed to win third place: P. KUNDRA 3/5, T. BARTKO 3/6, and R. KAPITANČÍK 3/5. S. RUSŇÁK, P. TOMLEIN, and M. BARAN left the tournament without a medal, being eliminated after two losses.
Among the girls, S. ZÁMOČNÍKOVÁ 6/6 and P. PEŤÁKOVÁ 5/6 did not fare well, losing two matches and thus not continuing in the competition. mb
