For the "XXVII International Tournament for the Cup of the Kraśnik Land," which took place on October 12-14, 2018, our six competitors traveled under the guidance of coach M. Jaroš and referee M. Sýkora to this tournament with international participation from 12 countries: France, Spain, Israel, Sweden, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia, and local clubs from Poland.
Our competitors performed as follows:
In the 53 kg weight category for juniors, Nina Kollárová placed fifth out of 10 competitors. Nina defeated a Polish wrestler in her first match, was no match for a Ukrainian in the second round and lost by technical superiority, and in the fight for the bronze medal, she was no match for another Ukrainian, losing 11:7 on points.
In the cadet category, the following wrestled:
Jakub Závacký in the 65-kg category, where he lost his first match on points to a colleague from Nitra, Vereš, 6:11. In the second match, he won against a Pole by the narrowest margin of 4:3, then defeated another Pole by fall, but finally lost to a representative from France 5:12 on points and thus said goodbye to the tournament.
In the 71 kg weight category, Martin Kubela wrestled, who recorded two losses by technical superiority and also ended his run in the tournament.
In the 92-kg category, Matej Beneš dealt with a Pole in the first round on points 6:1, but in the next two, he was no match for his opponents and lost on points 0:9 and by technical superiority, respectively.
The coach was most pleased by Makar Vyhyvskyi in the 70 kg weight class, who got through a competitor from Poland by technical superiority, a representative of Israel 4:6 on points, all the way to the semifinals, where he defeated a competitor from Russia 4:3 on points and secured a fight for the gold medal. In the final, he lost to a representative from Poland 0:8 and thus took a beautiful second place.
The second medal was won for us in the 92-kg category by Patrik Tomlein, who, after two losses by technical superiority to a Pole and a Ukrainian, finally won bronze with a victory over a Ukrainian. msy
