Košice, Plzeň (CZE) (27-28.2.2015) An annual international tournament was held in the Czech city of Plzeň, which was not missed by the Košice wrestlers. Coach Mgr. J. Dancák, assistant coach of the pupils Štefan Csorba, and Mr. Závacký traveled with 9 competitors. The tournament was, as in other years, rich in participants. Among the 200 competitors from 29 clubs and three countries, the wrestlers of ZK Košice 1904 did not get lost.
Among the pupils, V. Váňa /80 kg/ was the most successful, celebrating a gold medal. In the final of the 69 kg weight class, M. Závacký was no match for his opponent, thus taking home silver. Pupils F. Titka /40 kg/ and P. Tomlein /73 kg/ both finished in 4th place.
In the junior category up to 66 kg, the greatest success was achieved by the Bánovce nad Bebravou native J. Mesiarkin, who won first place and was also declared the most technical wrestler of the tournament. V. Korba /96 kg/ and Ľ. Kundrát /74 kg/ also stood on the first step of the podium. Kundrát lost in the group to his club colleague S. Mochnáč, but with mutual defeats in the group, Ľubo advanced to the final and took his chance. R. Peťák won silver in the 84 kg weight class, where he was no match for the Czech representative. In the same category, M. Sýkora took third place, losing to the Czech and also to his club colleague R.
