Košice, Šamorín (10.02.2018) According to the SZZ calendar, the first tournament where championship titles were awarded was scheduled for Saturday, 10.02.2018. Our club also took home two titles from Šamorín. In the 72 kg weight category, Makar Vyhivskiy won it, and in the 87 kg category, Tomáš Krupjak, both also students of the Sports Gymnasium in Košice. Coach Štefan Csorba could be satisfied with the boys' performances, as they took home bronze in the team evaluation with a five-member delegation. He also pleased the club president, Ján Tokár Jr., who cheered throughout and was delighted with the performance of the Košice freestyle wrestlers, who managed to succeed even among the "Greco-Roman wrestlers".
Coach Štefan Csorba evaluated the performance of the entire team very positively: "The boys gave fighting performances. Makar competed for the first time in the colors of the Košice club and showed the representatives Chomanič and Horínek that they will not have it easy with him this season. Samo Bučko also made a very significant impact, troubling his opponents and losing to the winner of the weight class by only a narrow margin of 1:2. The 87 kg weight category clearly belonged to us. In a competition of 8 wrestlers, Tomáš found no rival and met his teammate Samo Koršňák in the final. In the heavyweight category, we had the "old-new" graduate of the club, Samo Mochnáč, who competed after a long break. However, it was not yet enough for a medal position." ah
