Cadets, Women's Divisions - From Dunajská Streda with Seven Slovak Champion Titles!!!

03. 03. 2018

Košice, Dunajská Streda (03.03.2018) Saturday belonged to our freestyle wrestlers. The Slovak Cadet Championships and also the Slovak Championships for all women's divisions were held in the sports hall in Dunajská Streda. Our club had a strong representation, thanks to which we won first place in the team evaluation. Štefan Csorba sat on the coach's chair. Our club president, Ján Tokár Jr., also attended the trip.

The first title was secured for us in the 48 kg weight category by Samuel Bučko. Jakub Zavacký handled the second final match, defeating the home wrestler Andreas Gáll. In the 71 kg weight category, Makar Vyhivskyi competed for us, dealing with a representative from Dunajplavba Bratislava, Mikéz. This was Makar's second championship title this year. We are pleased that he is repaying us in this way as a new reinforcement for our club. Lukáš Neupauer also wrestled in the same weight category. For the graduate of the Stará Ľubovňa club and currently a student at the Sports Gymnasium in Košice, it was a bronze position. Košice graduate Patrik Tomlein clearly dominated the 80 kg weight category. Another student of the Sports Gymnasium is Adam Fedorco, who fought and took second place. Matej Béneš finished in the final fifth position.

Simultaneously with the cadet fights for titles, female freestyle wrestlers also had the opportunity to fight for the top spots. The level of the women's base is weaker year by year, but we believe that this will change and our girls will have a tougher path to the title. In each category, 2 competitors were entered, so the fight was for two victorious battles. Each of the Košice girls handled these excellently, so they deservedly brought home the titles of Slovak champions: Nina Kollárová, Patrícia Peťáková, and Dominika Kollárová. ah

We sincerely congratulate all competitors and thank you for a very successful trip for the titles of Slovakia!
