Prievidza (21.3.2015) The young hopes of the Košice club fought on the mats of Baník Prievidza for the title of Slovak champion in Greco-Roman style. With 94 "Greco-Roman wrestlers" participating, we succeeded in the two highest weight categories with Matej Béneš and Viktor Váňa! Jakub Závacký and Filip Titka had to settle for third place and a bronze medal. Just one place lower finished Sebastián Rusňák and Viliam Baran. Lukáš Lasky had his debut at the championships, his start in this age category was not successful and he finished in 6th place, as did Samuel Zummer, who did not place. Coaches Mgr. Miroslav Jedlička, Štefan Csorba, and Bc. Martin Sciranka have a lot of work to do with the pupils, and we believe it will be even better next year. We are keeping our fingers crossed!
The tournament was also attended by women's divisions in all categories, a total of 32 competitors. In the cadet category in the 49 kg weight class, our Nina Kollárová unfortunately had no one to measure her strength against, except for a friendly match, and so she won first place without a fight. Her older sister Dominika also won a gold medal without the title of champion among the juniors. Among the seniors, Andrea Šambronská - Hajduková dominated, winning the title of Slovak champion for 2015 from among three women. ah
