Nitra (19.9.2015) The J. Svitač Memorial was not without representatives from Košice's boys and girls. A five-member wrestling team from ZK Košice, led by Mgr. Miroslav Jedlička, traveled to the tournament. A total of 136 participants gathered in the Nitra sports hall. In addition to Slovak clubs, clubs from Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Austria also accepted the invitation.
The most successful were Filip Titka (44 kg) and Dominika Kollárová (56 kg), who found no rivals and won first places. In a competition of 10 wrestlers, Filip went through the first two rounds without a hitch, and a 12:2 victory in the final against a Czech representative meant a gold medal.
Dominika had two opponents: a local competitor, whom she defeated 9:0, and a representative from Austria, over whom she won by technical superiority.
Our senior, Andrea Hajduková-Šambronská, in the 63 kg weight category, had a relatively good representation for the women's category, with 6 competitors. In the first round, she defeated her Hungarian opponent without any problems, but in the final, an Austrian wrestler awaited her, whom she knew from last year's competition. This year, however, she was unable to defeat the Austrian, and after a 2:4L loss, she took a nice second place.
In the younger pupils' representation, Sebastián Rusňák (40 kg) and Mikuláš Lešo (52 kg) represented us. They both finished in 4th place, losing by fall in the fight for bronze.
We were represented at the tournament by a refereeing duo, Matej Gardoš and Ivan Vymazal, and a scorekeeper, Andrea Hajduková-Šambronská. mb
CONGRATULATIONS to the boys and girls!
