Košice (02.12.2017) The long-awaited St. Nicholas tournament for children is successfully behind us. This year, almost 120 children from Slovak clubs, but also from the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, and Hungary, gathered in our training hall. The children thus had the opportunity to wrestle with foreign competitors on home soil. A smile was brought to their faces right at the beginning by the traditional St. Nicholas, who gave a package to all participants. For some, the smile disappeared after the first matches, and tears came with the losses. That's how it is at children's tournaments. But we also had many successful wrestlers, and in the preparatory A category, Samuel Vokál was even declared the most successful wrestler of the tournament. This year's medalist from the World Championships in Paris, Boris Makoev, came to Košice and wished the children much success during the award ceremony.
He brought a lot of joy, distributed many photographs, and smiles, not only to our, but also to foreign admirers. We believe that the senior representative felt good in Košice and we hope that this was not his last visit. The jubilee tenth edition was marked as very successful by the chairman of the Olympic team, Miroslav Luberda. The members of our wrestling team, the coaches led by Štefan Csorba, and the referee corps led by Ivan Vymazal contributed to this. A big thank you goes mainly to all the parents who contributed in any way to the organization of this wonderful event for our children. The chefs from the Social Pavilion also took care of the full bellies of the wrestlers, for which we also thank them. The president of the club, Ján Tokár, could be satisfied with the overall result. We are already looking forward to the next edition. To all who came, fought, and wanted to spend Saturday in the company of Košice wrestlers, THANK YOU! ah
