Košice, Nitra (23.09.2017) The 36th Jozef Svitač Memorial had a sweet taste for our club this year. We finished in 2nd place among the teams! For various health, personal, and other reasons, our lineup was down to just 4. All the more reason for everyone to try and fight in their weight class. We most value the gold medal of our preparatory wrestler, Edo Kukura. In the 28 kg weight class, he found no rival and with four wins, he is taking home a valuable cup. In the U23 category, in the 74 kg weight class, Jakub Sýkora competed after a long break due to health problems. After three victories, he took first place, confirming that he is returning to the mats in top form. After a long wait, a student of the sports gymnasium in Košice, Samuel Koršňák, also got a victory, winning a gold medal in the 86 kg weight class after two matches. In the heavyweight division, Matúš Sýkora cannot be missed; he did a little better at this tournament than last week in Prievidza. He emerged victorious from three matches. Coach Štefan Csorba could thus accept the cup for second place in the team evaluation. The club president of ZK Košice 1904, Ján Tokár Jr., also came to personally support the boys, expressing his satisfaction with the performance of our competitors. Keep it up! ah
