Košice, Ostrava (June 11, 2016) A group of five of our competitors traveled to the traditional Jiří Klepec Memorial tournament in Ostrava. For the tournament, which is for categories from preparatory to seniors, our club, with coach Marek Sciranka, sent only seniors this time. The most successful was the heaviest of the selection, Matúš Sýkora, who won in the 97 kg weight category. In the 74 kg category, our wrestlers Matej Deák and Róbert Szatmári snatched silver and bronze, respectively. The last medal to the collection was added by Samuel Koršnák in the 86 kg weight class, where he placed third, while Roman Peťák was eliminated from the fights in this category.
A pair of our competitors in the "74-kg" category participated in the tournament as representatives of the Slovak Republic, and this tournament was a test for them before the European Police Championships in Bratislava in October. Maťo and Robo also helped the Slovak Republic team to 1st place in the senior team evaluation. js
Congratulations!
