Dan Pálinkás will face German Aydin Ergun in the qualification round of the 74 kg weight category, and Marián Hutňan will wrestle against Spaniard José Vazquez Cuba in the round of 16 of the heaviest category, up to 120 kg.
"Dana faces a tough match in the first round. In my opinion, he got an unpleasant opponent and will have to exert all his strength and abilities for success. Maja faces a seemingly easier opponent on paper, but he will also have to give his maximum performance. I believe in both boys and will be cheering them on loudly," reacted Ján Tokár Jr., president of ZK Košice 1904, to the draw this evening.
This afternoon, the third of the six Slovak freestyle wrestlers, Mikola Bolotňuk from Vihorlat Snina, competed in the Beogradska Arena. In the round of 16 of the 60 kg category, he lost to the later bronze medalist, Georgian Malchaz Zarkua, by the narrowest margin in two periods, 0:1 and 0:1, and finished in 16th place out of 20 competitors.
