Košice (April 14, 2012) - Simultaneously with the domestic championship of older pupils in Košice, girls and women also competed in the Slovak Championships on Saturday in the Social Pavilion. A title was also won by one of the competitors of our Wrestling Club (ZK) Košice 1904 - Nina Kollárová won among the younger pupils in the 39 kg category.
In total, 34 girls and women from ten Slovak clubs competed in the championship. In some age and weight categories, only one or two competitors registered; only in a few did three, or at most four, compete. Therefore, at the end of the championship, the organizers could only declare Slovak champions in those categories in which at least three contestants "fought" for the title. And so, even though our ZK had the largest representation at the tournament, only N. Kollárová, who won in a competition of two other pupils, could be declared a champion. Her three-year-older sister, Domonika Kollárová, was less successful, finishing second among the older pupils in the 52 kg category.
A pleasant addition to the sports program in the Social Pavilion was the selection of the most charming competitor for 2012. A three-member committee consisting of Milan Urbánek, Marek Sciranka, and Andrea Šambronská selected the new Slovak champion Nina Kollárová, a member of our ZK Košice 1904, as the "best" from among all the competing girls and women.
