Košice, Stará Ľubovňa (29.04.2017) The last Saturday of April also meant participation in a tournament for our pupils. The preparatory and pupil wrestlers could test their skills at the traditional tournament "For the Cup of the Mayor of Stará Ľubovňa". In other years, this tournament had greater participation, both from Slovak and foreign clubs. But even 112 competitors from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia ensured a high-quality field in some weight classes. It was perhaps a shame that the tournament had too many weight and age categories, which were mostly poorly filled, or not at all. Our youngest preparatory wrestlers deserved the most attention, when the undefeated Dominik Zavacký and Samuel Vokál met in the final. Samko Vokál deservedly won, defeating his teammate on points.
Great thanks for their fighting spirit also go to the brothers Samuel and Patrik Beck, who both stood on the winner's podium, both in third place.
The coaching duo Juraj Dancák and Štefan Csorba also coached the boys, of whom only Michal Lukáň managed to make it into the top five, losing in the match for bronze. ah
