+
03. 06. 2017
| Košice, Siedlce POL (03.06.2017) Coach Mgr. Miroslav Jedlička traveled to the Polish town of Siedlce with a delegation of girls and also entered boys in two categories. It was a very high-quality tournament, especially for our junior women. The sister duo Nina and Dominika Kollárová both finished in 3rd place. Both competed among the junior women, and although Nina is still a cadette by age, she did not get lost in the strong competition even among the older girls. Sofia Jackaninová competed for ZK Košice, who is still gaining experience at such events. After two losses to representatives from UKR and POL, she finished in seventh place.

19. 05. 2017
| Košice, Belgrade SRB (19-21.05.2017) A large group of Slovaks traveled to the historically first European Championships in the older pupils category. Among them were our best freestyle wrestlers from Košice, the new Slovak champion among cadets Jakub Zavacký and the pupil Slovak champion Viktor Váňa. We are bringing home a beautiful 8th place from the debut championship. On the first day of competition, Jakub Zavacký competed in the 53 kg weight category. The draw assigned him an ISR, with whom he lost 4:10 after a fighting performance. After the ISR's loss to a BLR 3:8, Jakub did not advance to further fights. In the 85 kg weight category, Viktor Váňa pleased us right in the first match, when he defeated an MDA by fall. In the second round, a GEO awaited him, to whom he lost 6:8 despite a great fighting spirit. The final 8th place from the European Championships is a beautiful result. ah

13. 05. 2017
| Košice, Nyíregyháza (13.05.2017) A high-quality tournament, proven over the years by our youngest wrestlers' coaches, could not be missing from the competition calendar this year either. The Hungarian town hosted almost 200 competitors from Romania, Ukraine, Italy, and over twenty clubs from Hungary. The children were accompanied at the tournament not only by their parents but also by the coaching duo Štefan Csorba and Martin Sciranka. The Košice wrestlers competed in both styles, where, according to the coaches, they did very well, as evidenced by the 8 medals won.
Older Pupils, U23 - From the Gemer Cup, as many as 6 medals!
+
13. 05. 2017
| Košice, Rimavská Sobota (13.05.2017) The competition Saturday for our older pupils and U23 was marked by the XXXV. edition of the MT GEMERSKÝ POHÁR. Compared to last year, there were only almost 80 competitors in both age categories. One of the reasons for the lower participation was also the MT in the UWW calendar in Bucharest, to which Slovak representatives also traveled in large numbers. 7 Hungarian clubs took care of increasing the quality of the competition in Rimavská Sobota. Ours managed to win 6 medals in Gemer, and coach Mgr. Miroslav Jedlička received the cup for second place in the team evaluation in the U23 category. ah

11. 05. 2017
| Košice, Bucharest (11-14.05.2017) The Slovak delegation traveled to the international championship in a quality lineup. A total of fifteen freestyle wrestlers, junior Greco-Roman representatives, one junior woman, and one cadette were able to measure their strength at the UWW tournament. On the opening day of the competition, Nina Kollárová, the only representative of the fairer sex in the cadette category, competed. Unfortunately, after her first loss to a TUR, she did not advance to further fights. On the second day, the Košice freestyle wrestler, in the 74 kg weight category, Róbert Szatmári, joined the fight. He won his first match against a local Romanian. In the second round, he ran into his Slovak colleague Akhsarbek Gulaev, with whom he lost. The eventual winner of the weight class pulled him into the repechage, but in the match for bronze, he was no match for a Frenchman. On the last day of the IT, we managed to win a metal for the Slovak colors, in the form of a bronze, wh

Pupils - Košice Final of D. Zavacký and S. Vokál at the "For the Cup of the Mayor of Stará Ľubovňa" IT
+
29. 04. 2017
| Košice, Stará Ľubovňa (29.04.2017) The last Saturday of April also meant participation in a tournament for our pupils. Their skills could be tested by preparatory and pupil wrestlers at the traditional tournament "For the Cup of the Mayor of Stará Ľubovňa". In other years, this tournament had greater participation, both from Slovak and foreign clubs. But even 112 competitors from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia ensured a high-quality field in some weight classes. It was perhaps a shame that the tournament had too many weight and age categories, which were mostly poorly filled, or not at all. Our youngest preparatory wrestlers deserved the most attention, when the undefeated Dominik Zavacký and Samuel Vokál met in the final. Samko Vokál deservedly won, defeating his teammate on points.

07. 04. 2017
| Košice, Gniew (POL) (7-8.4.2017) Our girls traveled with the national team coach to a training camp in Warsaw, Poland, where they subsequently participated in an international tournament. The most successful of the entire Slovak delegation was our Nina KOLLÁROVÁ in the 48 kg weight category, who, after a first loss to the German L. Ersel 0:10 and then a win over the Pole P. Grzejda 10:0 in the B group, won the bronze medal. Patrícia PEŤÁKOVÁ from Košice also traveled, in the 51 kg weight category, who finished in fifth place after two losses to Polish representatives.

04. 04. 2017
| Košice, Luckenwalde (GER) On the last weekend of April, from 28.4 to 30.4.2017, the international tournament "Brandenburg Cup" was held in Luckenwalde, Germany, to which a numerous delegation of our wrestlers, led by coach M. Jedlička and M. Závacký, traveled. The national referee corps was represented by M. Sýkora. Our boys did not fare well at this strong event, as S. Bučko, J. Závacký, P. Tomlein, and M. Beneš did not get past their opponents, and their opponents did not pull them into the repechage. V. Váňa lost his second match in the repechage, and the only one who managed to win a match was A. Fedorco, who fought for 3rd place but lost to his opponent by technical superiority, thus finishing in 5th place.
U23 - At the European Championships, G. Tysz in the top ten

02. 04. 2017
| Košice, Szombathely - HUN (28.3. - 02.04.2017) The Slovak national team traveled to the European championships with seven freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers. It was expected that the representatives from Russia, competing for Slovakia, would help us achieve better results, but they also lack experience at such top events. Overall, we recorded "only" one 5th place, which was unexpectedly achieved by Greco-Roman wrestler T. Soós in the heavyweight freestyle category thanks to a favorable draw. Three top-ten finishes belonged to two classic-style wrestlers and our home wrestler Gabriel Tysz in the 97 kg weight category, who placed 9th overall. In the first round, Gabi defeated a representative from Greece 7:3. In the quarterfinals, he was no match for the German Cudinovica and lost by technical superiority 10:0, and could thus say goodbye to the tournament. We congratulate Gabriel Tysz and believe that his form will be fine-tuned for the upcoming World Championships and the result wil
