| In the large Slovak delegation to the European Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, there were also two names of freestyle wrestlers with club affiliation to ZK Košice 1904 - Dan Pálinkás and Marián Hutňan. Given the position of Košice wrestlers on the Slovak mats, this is a bit low, but only they met the nomination criteria by winning the title at last year's national championships.

| Although the Slovak Cup slipped from the hands of the Košice freestyle wrestlers at the end of the year, snatched by Snina, one cannot speak of a spoiled season. | KOŠICE. The successful representative and first chairman of the Košice Olympic Club, Mikuláš Athanasov, did a great deal for the good name and development of sport, especially wrestling, in the city. That is why the competition in honor of his name should be highly commended. On the mats in the gym at the Social Pavilion, boys born in 1998, 1999, and 2000 will compete from 11:00 a.m. Perhaps among them, we will see some future champions of Slovakia, or even an Olympic medalist. And all this is aimed at promoting wrestling through this year's memorial.

| The name of the absolute winner of the Košice Sports Personality 2011 poll will be known to the public in less than two months, and for now, even the organizers themselves are not clear on who the "number one" will be, but the definitive "roster" of the ten-member team, from which the winner of the main trophy will emerge, has been known for some time. KOŠICE. It was a slightly more modest year for significant international successes or medals from world or European championships, but the members of the Košice Sports Academy had plenty to choose from in the "Top 10" category. Not only medalists from individual sports were on offer, but several followers of team sports also had strong arguments for their inclusion. Medals were the trump card.

| They are the best Slovak club for 2011, they have the best senior and junior among Slovak freestyle wrestlers, and successes on international mats, and yet something is missing for their complete satisfaction. KOŠICE. "Naturally, we are very pleased with the first place in the club rankings for 2011, but at the same time it is also a commitment, because especially in the pupil categories we have large reserves, which I am alluding to last week's Slovak senior pupil championship in our Social Pavilion," says Ján Tokár, the president of the Košice 1904 Wrestling Club, taming the euphoria.

| The last star faded in the northern sky. WRESTLERS IN HELSINKI APPLAUDED AND CRIED. Last week, the last little star of Slovak Olympic hope also faded in the northern sky. Our wrestlers did not bring back a spot for London from the final qualification tournament in Helsinki. Although freestyle wrestler Dan Pálinkás of ZK Košice 1904 almost had it in his hands... KOŠICE. The heroic performance of Pálinkás in the 74 kg weight category will long remain in the memory of the president of the best Slovak club, ZK Košice 1904, Ján Tokár. "I will certainly not forget a performance like the one Dano gave in Helsinki in the fight for the London Olympics. Together with the president of the Slovak Wrestling Federation, Arpád Baksay, we applauded on the one hand that he won a very valuable bronze medal, and on the other hand, we had tears in our eyes when we realized that he was about ten seconds away from an Olympic spot..."

| KOŠICE. Just last year, when he reached the respectable age of 90 on October 16, all his acquaintances admired his vitality. The delegation of the Košice Olympic Club, which came to shake his hand, wish him all the best, and reminisce together about his rich wrestling past, was no exception. This was associated with the name of the Lučenec native Ladislav Mihók, who was a recognized, highly respected personality and a legend of this Olympic sport.
